How we do things at We Should Rip
Cards are supposed to be fun. Getting a straight answer about them shouldn’t be difficult. Here’s what you can expect from us.
Show where it came from.
If we’re using a checklist, published odds, or an announcement, we’ll tell you where it came from. If we’re making an estimate or giving our opinion, we’ll say that too.
Sometimes the information is incomplete. We’d rather say “we don’t know yet” than fill the gap with something that sounds convincing.
Explain the numbers.
Chase Index is our way of helping you understand what’s in a product and compare the chase. We’ll explain the assumptions behind it and where the information falls short.
A score doesn’t promise a hit, tell you what a card will sell for, or decide what you should collect. Your favorite player doesn’t need our permission to be your favorite player.
Own the mistakes.
With thousands of cards, names, parallels, and product details, we’ll get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we’ll correct them.
If a correction changes the meaning of a story, checklist, or analysis, we’ll explain what changed and make the update visible.
Found something we missed? Send us a correction. A product name, card number, page link, and supporting source or photo will help us track it down.
Give people their credit.
Stories should have a name behind them. Photos and contributions should be credited to the people who made them.
If we want to feature something you shared with the community, we’ll get your permission first. Posting a great pull in Discord isn’t an automatic invitation for us to put it on the website.
Be upfront about the business.
I sell cards and host breaks. That’s part of We Should Rip, and you should know when it’s relevant to what you’re reading.
If a story is sponsored, a product was supplied for coverage, or a link earns us a commission, we’ll say so where it matters. You shouldn’t have to hunt through the fine print to understand the relationship.
Leave room for different collectors.
Some people chase a player. Some build sets. Some just see a card and think, “Yep, I need that.”
There’s room for all of it here. We’ll share what we know, explain our opinions, and leave you to decide what belongs in your collection.
